About Us

A Family Farm Rooted in Tradition

The T & T Ranch is located about 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas, close to Death Valley and the California border in the Amargosa Valley, Nevada. The Ranch was founded by the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad over one-hundred years ago to provide produce and fresh supplies for local mining communicty and for export on what was a busy railroad line at the time.

The focus of the Ranch has shifted to organic egg production since 2017. For several years, we supplied fresh organic chicken and duck eggs to restaurants, retail stores like Whole-Food Markets, co-ops, and individual customers in Southern Nevada. The Bird Flu hit the operation hard in late 2022 and wiped out our entire flock. We restarted the operation and only produce organic chicken eggs now and have chosen not to return to stores and instead strengthen our connection with individual restaurants and those who believe in "closing the loop" by returning their compostable materials to benefit the soil. We have a variety of chicken breeds including Americana, Whiting True Blue, Whiting True Green, Rhode Island Red, Maran, Silkie, Orpington, Barred Rock, and Leghorn. Theses hardy birds provide us with colorful eggs ranging from blue, green, dark brown, and pale brown to white. They are fed a specially formulated organic diet with a specific protein content, and fresh greens, such as alfalfa and clover, grown on-site. Seasonally, we feed the birds produce from our farm including pumpkins, squash, pomegranates, and apricots. In the winter, we also provide them with organic black sunflower seeds to help them regrow feathers and keep healthy.

Each of our chickens enjoys 24/7 access to an outdoor alfalfa pasture field.

Today T & T Ranch grows a variety of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and small-batch farm produce that are available directly through our arrangement with Viva La Compost. They are making it possible to close the loop and place compostable materials on the farm instead of in landfills. Please support this valuable endeavor to reduce local food waste and providing fresh produce while maintaining the values that matter most to us – transparency, quality, and sustainability.
